In a candid interview with VIBE, global Afrobeats star Davido reflected on his career, personal journey, and future ambitions, revealing plans to expand beyond music while addressing some of the biggest misconceptions about his public persona.

Davido revealed that he hopes to begin acting soon while serving as an executive producer on two films set for release this year. He also confirmed that a documentary chronicling his journey is currently in the works.
Addressing the perception that he is “too free and accessible,” the singer explained that growing up wealthy meant fame and material success never changed who he is, insisting that being visible and connected with people is simply part of his personality.
Reflecting on his breakout hit “Dami Duro,” Davido recalled releasing the record while “on the run” from his family at 17, noting that the song captured his determination to pursue music despite the challenges he faced.
