Nigerian rap heavyweight Erigga and Abuja lyricist Eeskay have officially joined forces for “North & South,” a collaborative EP that unites two distinct regional sounds into one compelling body of work.
Released through Cleanblack Music, the project explores themes of struggle, identity, ambition, and resilience, blending Erigga’s gritty South-South storytelling with Eeskay’s vibrant Northern perspective.
At the heart of the EP is “Reckoning,” an emotionally charged record inspired by a true-life story that strips away bravado in favour of raw honesty. Speaking on the collaboration,
Erigga noted that the project revealed how “struggle no get accent,” emphasizing that despite different backgrounds, the realities, dreams, and pressures shared by Nigerians remain universal. “North & South” stands as a powerful statement on unity through authentic storytelling.
