Weekly Albums Chart Round-Up: Shallipopi achieves clean sweep on the charts

Week Of October 13th – 19th

Another week has come and gone and in usual fashion, we’re committed to giving updates on how different albums fared across various charts and DSP’s in the past week. From the Billboard charts to the UK charts and to the various streaming platforms.

Billboard World Albums Chart

Rema’s Rave & Roses maintains its position at #4, last weeks and it has now spent 67 weeks on the chart after peaking at #2. Burna Boy’s I Told Them also held it spot at #5 and spent its 11th week on the chart. Love, Damini also moved 2 spots up to #13 and has now spent 58 weeks on the chart.

NG Apple Music

Shallipopi’s Presido La Pluto has now spent a full week at #1 on the NG Apple music album chart, after dethroning Rema’s RAVAGE EP. The album has achieved a major clean sweep across DSP’s that started with Apple Music and has spread. In other news, Teni’s sophomore album, Tears Of The Sun is the highest peaking project on NG Apple amongst the newly released albums on Friday, at #4.

Spotify NG

After a ruthless dominance at the top for 5 weeks, ODUMODUBLVCK’S EZIOKWU has finally been dethroned off the top spot on the weekly album chart, by Shallipopi’s Presido La Pluto. Spotify was the last major DSP conquered by Shallipopi to complete its clean sweep of topping every major one.

In other news, Omah Lay’s Boy Alone has now become the first ever album to spend 70 weeks in the NG Spotify top 10. It is the longest running top 10 project of all-time on the chart and only a further testament to the album’s classic status.

Audiomack

Shallipopi’s Presido La Pluto has now completed a full week atop the Audiomack weekly albums chart. Mohbad’s Blessed maintains its spot at #2, Kizz Daniel’s Maverick at #3, Asake’s Work Of Art at #4 and Burna’s I Told Them rounds it up at 5.

Boomplay

Shallipopi’s Presido La Pluto ruthless streak of course extends to Boomplay, where it knocked Davido’s Timeless off the top spot down to #2. ODUMODUBLVCK’S EZIOKWU is now at #3, Kizz Daniel’s Maverick is at #4 and Asake’s Work Of Art rounds up the top 5.
