a vibrant celebration of cultural roots and personal growth.

Mazi Floss ( TW: @Badmanfloss )

Kelechi‘ in the Igbo adaptation translates to “Thank God” in English. It is no wonder that the mood all through the track inspire so much appreciation even to the elements fused together to weave it into one. From the artist’s point of view, it makes so much sense to end the year with a celebratory record that sends all his gratitude to God.

Having gone on a two year hiatus in which fans had thirst and waited for a release from him, Mazi Floss announced and made his return on his October release “Shakara” and its follow-up “Can’t Stop My Shine” in November. The latter which enjoyed so much buzz across social media was enough proof that Mazi Floss still got his influence in check as one of the top artists to emerge from the eastern base of the country and his fans still swooning over every of his release because of the top quality he offers in his music.

My God no fit let me down, My God no go slack / .. when they say there is a casting down, that’s when we say there is a lifting up, Oluwa has done it again o, Baba has done it again o, our hustle no dey in vain o, no more worries again o“.

With “Kelechi” coming in as his third released single in as many months, it is not so farfetched as to why the veteran artist has decided to probably close an eventful and exhilarating year with a song of gratitude. Incorporating the vibrant, buzzing and stylistic element of traditional African music, Mazi Floss tenders his appreciation letter. In his personal letter, Mazi Floss alternates perfectly between his native tongue and English language that just about gives him balance to get his intentions across.

It is groovy and very much provides a means to dance and wiggle away sorrows because over here it is all about being thankful for everything. End of the year are usually synonymous for periods of appreciation and gratitude, hence it makes much sense for the release being scheduled for this time.
