The music on “Winner” often reaches the listener before the words do. Drums, percussion and guitars establish an atmosphere of praise from the start, while MALLY’s melodies guide the project towards its quieter worship moments. Across four tracks, she shows that celebration and reverence can coexist.

“Hold On” is the EP’s busiest song. Its strong drums provide the base, and the surrounding percussion introduces elements of Amapiano and gospel house. There is constant motion in the instrumental, but it is controlled motion. MALLY remains steady above it, allowing her delivery to bring reassurance to the song.
The production also changes how the message is received. Instead of making endurance sound painful, “Hold On” gives it rhythm. The track feels like encouragement offered in the middle of a praise session.
“Favour” brings a more playful kind of movement. Highlife-inspired guitars add warmth, while the Gospel Afrobeats percussion creates an easy celebratory bounce. MALLY sings about the favour and blessings in her life. The statement is simple, but her confidence prevents it from feeling empty.
The pace slows on “I Got Joy”. With its hymn-like structure and message about joy following hardship, the song enters familiar gospel territory. Still, MALLY delivers it sincerely. The electric guitar, keyboard, drums and percussion come together without crowding her voice, giving the short track a satisfying fullness.
“Higher Be Lifted” closes with a direct expression of worship. Trumpets bring brightness, while the background vocals add a sense of community. MALLY’s own experiences move to the background as the song becomes entirely focused on devotion.
“Winner” lasts 14 minutes and 58 seconds, but its short runtime works in its favour. There is little repetition in the project’s purpose. Each song takes the listener one step further, from the need to hold on to the freedom of praise and, eventually, worship. That movement gives the EP its identity.
