Lancastar Moon’s unique vision is evident on “June” (Review)

Lancaster Moon’s unique approach to Hip-Hop takes centre stage on his new release.

Lancastar Moon is not just an artist; he is a storyteller, a cultural ambassador, and a visionary. Born Eneh Chisom Evaristus, his music is an artistic expression that goes beyond entertainment, tapping into themes of cultural pride, personal growth, and resilience.

His approach—blending traditional Nigerian influences with the powerful beats and lyrics of contemporary rap—offers listeners a new way to experience the rich diversity of African music. Lancastar Moon’s rise coincides with a time when NG Hip-Hop is taking a new shape, and he is part of the new generation moving it ahead.

The release of his debut single, “40/60,” marked a pivotal moment for Eneh as an artist. The song’s unique fusion of Afro rap and hip-hop quickly caught the attention of Nigerian music lovers and positioned him as a rising star in the industry. “40/60” is more than just a debut track; it’s a statement of purpose and style.

His second release “June” came at the end of the year, marking a significant milestone for him as he ended 2024 in the best way. On his new release, Lancaster Moon doesn’t change his style, rather he improves on his debut, coming out with a smooth, relaxed and assured delivery on the bouncy trap production.

In what is just his second professional outing, he keeps a tight cadence and flows easily on the beat, his delivery comes at a like to that of a proven and seasoned act, so much that it highlights his growth since his debut mid last year.

The growth is obvious. Lancastar Moon’s intention to break boundaries with his style is definitely what sets him apart. On “June“, he shows that he has all it takes to be unique and also make the music much more different. While the vision might not be clear at the moment, subsequent release will definitely influence appeal.

However, at this juncture, Lancastar Moon’s decision to keep a modern approach to his style, opting for that Gen-Z influence which will surely play a vital role in how he is perceived and how relatable the music will be for a wider appeal. The signs are positive, even just after two releases.

Listen Now: Lancastar Moon — June.
