Nigerian singer Fireboy DML has released his fifth studio album, “ZUKO!”, marking his return to the album circuit two years after “Adedamola”.
“ZUKO!” finds Fireboy DML opening a new sonic chapter, bringing together the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats, the grit of Jamaican dancehall and the vibrant pulse of South African sounds
The album features Lojay on “GODDESS”, Jamaican dancehall star Masicka on “CLAAT!”, Judah Earl on the opening track “DEAR FATHER”, and South African collaborators JAZZWRLD and Thukuthela on “IMALI”. The latter has already entered the Official Nigeria Top 100’s Top 20, marking Fireboy’s 25th entry into that section of the chart, according to TurnTable Charts.
The release follows a catalogue that includes “Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps”, “Apollo”, “Playboy” and “Adedamola”, projects that have helped establish Fireboy as one of Afrobeats’ prominent melodic voices.
