Behind Nigeria’s biggest streaming records are labels whose catalogues have become closely associated with some of the country’s biggest artists.
The 100M+ list reveals two things, which labels appear most frequently, but also how heavily some of these totals are concentrated around individual artists. YBNL Nation / EMPIRE leads the ranking with 14 songs above 100 million streams, with much of that total coming from Asake and Fireboy DML. The figure places the label at the top of the list and shows the sheer streaming depth of the artists associated with its catalogue.
But the most striking concentration comes immediately behind it. Spaceship Entertainment Ltd. has 11 qualifying songs, and all 11 are Burna Boy records. This makes the label’s position particularly significant: its entire showing in this ranking is driven by one artist and demonstrates just how extensively Burna Boy’s catalogue has accumulated major streaming numbers.
The same pattern appears with Keyqaad, which has seven songs above 100 million streams, all from Omah Lay. Rather than representing a broad roster of artists, Keyqaad’s presence in the ranking is essentially a reflection of the extraordinary streaming performance of Omah Lay’s catalogue.
Starboy/RCA Records follows with five entries, while Mavin Records/Jonzing World, RCA Records/Since 93′, Mavin Records and Columbia each have four.
WM South Africa and Leading Vibe Ltd complete the top 10 with three apiece. The label rankings therefore tells two stories: the growing strength of Nigerian music companies, and the extraordinary ability of individual artists like Burna Boy and Omah Lay to generate deep, high-performing catalogues.
