Born Momoh Oshiotseameh Luke, the Nigerian singer and songwriter known professionally as Kvng Vidarr hails from Edo State but was raised in Ikorodu, Lagos. Influenced by his grandmother’s rich musical background, he grew up surrounded by sounds from iconic African artists like Yvonne Chaka and international pop groups such as Westlife and the Backstreet Boys.

Over the years, Vidarr has quietly made his mark within the Afrobeats scene, contributing to the success of tracks by Joeboy, Reekado Banks, Ric Hassani, and Laycon. His writing credits include well-known songs such as “Adenuga,” “Duffel Bag,” and “Bioba.”

Now stepping into the spotlight as Young Legend’s first flagship artist, Vidarr brings a distinct sound blending Afrobeat, highlife, and dancehall influences, while demonstrating a willingness to innovate. His debut, a self-titled EP titled “Kvng Vidarr”, is set to release at midnight on November 1, 2024.

In discussing this debut, Deola Jaiyesimi, Head of Label at Young Legend, emphasized the label’s dedication to nurturing the next wave of Afrobeat talent and passing the torch to a new generation.
