Weekly Albums Charts Round-Up: Rema, ODUMODUBLVCK, Burna Boy & More

Week of October 23 – 30

Another week has come and gone and in usual tradition, we are committed to updating you on how different albums fared across several charts in the past week. From the Billboard charts to the UK charts and to the streaming platforms.

Billboard World Albums Chart:

Rema’s Rave & Roses has enjoyed a terrific ascent to #3 on the Billboard World Albums chart this past week, rising 2 spots up from #5. It is currently the highest charting Afrobeats album on the chart in its 65th week. Burna Boy’s I Told Them on the other hand, remains at #4 in its 9th week on the chart.

Wizkid’s Made In Lagos, which holds the record of the longest running African album on the chart, has now re-entered at #15, for a sensational 132 weeks. Burna Boy’s Love, Damini also got a re-entry at earlier on, last week prior to Made In Lagos.

NG Apple Music

Despite continuous heavy competition, Odumodublvck’s mixtape, EZIOKWU held it down at #1 on the NG Apple Music album chart for the 3rd week running, before eventually losing its place to Rema’s RAVAGE EP on Friday. Since its release, RAVAGE has remained steady at #1, with singles charting relatively high and so doesn’t look like it’s slowing down anytime soon.

Other newly released projects on Friday, like Blaqbonez’s Emeka Must Shine, Erigga’s Family Time and Reminisce’s ATSG have all peaked in the top 5 also. It’s interesting to note that all these projects are Hip-Hop albums.

Spotify NG

Odumodublvck’s EZIOKWU extends its stay at the top of the Spotify NG weekly Album chart for a third dominant week. Burna Boy’s I Told Them and Asake’s Work Of Art rise several spots back up into the top 3, whilst Bnxn’s Sincerely, Benson and Mohbad’s Blessed rounded up the top 5.

Burna Boy’s African Giant has now crossed 800m Spotify streams, becoming his 2nd album after Love, Damini to do so. Asake’s Mr. Money With The Vibe and Omah Lay’s Boy Alone have also reached a new milestone of 60 weeks in the top 10.

Audiomack

On Audiomack, Mohbad’s Blessed remains on top for a 6th non-consecutive week. Kizz Daniel’s Maverick is at #2 and Asake’s Work Of Art at #3. Rema’s RAVAGE EP is at #5, off a few days of tracking.

Boomplay

On Boomplay, Davido’s Timeless has clinched the no. 1 spot, dethroning Asake’s Work Of Art after a dominant show of 15 weeks. Odumodublvck’s EZIOKWU held the no #2 spot, with Work Of Art holding onto the last spot in the top 3.
