Nigerian production duo VINKAY, made up of Busayo Vincent Balogun and Oghenekome Otokumor, officially steps into the spotlight with their debut EP, “Groove.“
The two-track instrumental project is currently available on Audiomack and YouTube, with a wider rollout expected soon.
Known for production and songwriting credits on records like “Carry,” “Woman,” and “Omotena” alongside Tmaro, Drexbeats, and PapaRazzle, VINKAY brings the same rich percussion and spacious arrangements into instrumental territory.
The EP opens with “Market Dance,” a vibrant, trumpet-laced groove driven by heavy bass and thick drums, before transitioning into the smoother “Palmwine Bounce,” which blends Afrobeats bounce with traditional textures like the shekere. Short, focused, and confident, “Groove” marks a strong introduction to VINKAY as artists.
