Tyla’s self-titled debut album, “TYLA,” has become the first album by an African female artist to spend 130 weeks on the Billboard World Albums chart.
The project first entered the chart at No. 1 in April 2024 following its release on March 22, beginning a run that has now stretched across two and a half years.
What makes the milestone notable is not just its length, but its consistency. While many albums enjoy brief chart peaks, “TYLA” has remained in circulation through a combination of global hits and sustained listener interest. Songs such as “Water,” “Truth or Dare,” “Jump,” “Art” and “Push 2 Start” have helped keep the album active long after its debut.
From topping the chart in its opening week to reaching 130 weeks, “TYLA” has become one of the longest-running African albums in Billboard history.
