Tyla and Tems are representing Africa at the 2026 Soul Train Awards, with both Nigerian and South African stars earning recognition in the newly announced fan-voted categories.

Tyla’s hit single “Chanel” is nominated for R&B/Soul Song of the Year, putting the Grammy-winning South African star in contention alongside major names including Bruno Mars, Chris Brown & Bryson Tiller, Kehlani and Tems.
Tems earns two nominations, making her the only artist nominated in both newly introduced fan-voted categories. She is up for R&B/Soul Song of the Year with “What You Need”, while also receiving a nomination for Spotify’s RNB X International Artist, alongside Cleo Sol, FLO, kwn, Odeal, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Tiana Major9.
The 2026 Soul Train Awards will air on November 27 at 8 PM ET/PT on BET and CBS, with fans voting for the winners through October 16.
