That time of the year is here again. The most prestigious Nigerian awards organizers have released the nominations list for the 16th edition of their awards ceremony. Here is the list of albums that made the cut and their categories.

2.) BEST ALTERNATIVE ALBUM

– “Matter of Time” by Dami Oniru

– “Heart of the Heavenly Undeniable” by Somadina

– “Native World” by Native Sound System

3.) BEST RAP ALBUM

– “Fly Talk Only” by Payper Corleone

– “Palmwine Music, Vol 3” by ShowDemCamp

– “Young Preacher” by BlaqBonez

– “YPSZN3” by Psycho YP

– “TESLIM” by Vector

– “Billion Dollar Dream” by Jeriq

4.) ALBUM OF THE YEAR

– “Love, Damini” by Burna Boy

– “Mr Money with the Vibe” by Asake

– “Rave & Roses” by Rema

– “Boy Alone” by Omah Lay

-“Outlaw” by Victony

– “Timeless” by Davido

Artistes like Burna Boy (10) , Asake(8), Omah Lay (5), and Rema(5) carried away the most nominations from the list, with a surprising lack of nomination for Wizkid, an event that has not happened since 2011. Other notable acts that were snubbed includes Zinoleesky, Joeboy, Mayorkun, Teni & more.

The nomination list has received mixed reactions from the general Nigerian populace, with some people pointing out multiple snubs to potential candidates. However, the list is out now, and every artist can only hope that the odds are in their favor to win in their respective categories.
