Tems has confirmed she is working on her sophomore album, hinting at a more introspective sound rooted in R&B, melancholy and mellow, lo-fi textures.

Speaking via EE72, the singer described the project as “more R&B leaning,” likening its smooth, mellow feel to a river. The direction suggests a softer, more reflective chapter following her 2024 debut album, “Born in the Wild.”
Tems also opened up about her spontaneous songwriting process, explaining that she rarely writes lyrics on paper, preferring to freestyle over music as melodies and words emerge naturally.
She cited “Raindance,” her collaboration with Dave, as an example, revealing that she freestyled into her phone for 30 minutes before the team pieced the recording together.
While the album’s title and release date remain unannounced, fans can anticipate another deeply personal body of work.
