The record draws inspiration from Sàngó, the Yoruba deity associated with thunder, lightning, power and justice, alongside “Igi Nla,” meaning “great tree.” Through traditional percussion, rhythmic patterns and layered vocals, Teledalase creates a soundscape that connects contemporary alternative music with Yoruba musical expression.

“SANGO, IGI NLA” builds on the cultural and spiritual themes present across Teledalase’s artistry, following projects including “The ones who didn’t die, Pt. 1” and “The Bad Wife has no Tongue.”

An Apple Music Africa Rising artist in 2025, Teledalase also contributed music to Netflix’s “Aníkúlápó: Rise of the Spectre,” further establishing her cross-cultural artistic voice.
