Spotify has launched audiobooks in Nigeria, effective October 14, 2026, expanding access to spoken-word content as part of its global rollout to more than 180 markets by the end of the year.

Both Free and Premium users in Nigeria can access Audiobooks+ for ₦2,300 monthly, which includes 15 hours of listening per billing cycle. Additional listening time is available through a 10-hour top-up for ₦2,700, while users can also purchase individual titles to keep.
The launch introduces features including Page Match, which allows listeners to switch between print and audio, offline downloads, sleep timers, and progress syncing across supported devices.
Spotify is also opening opportunities for Nigerian authors and publishers to reach international audiences through Spotify for Authors, with non-exclusive audiobook partnerships allowing local creators to distribute their work globally.
The expansion follows strong growth in audiobook engagement, with Spotify reporting nearly 40% growth in monthly audiobook listeners over the past year and a rise of more than 30% in listening hours.
Nigerian users can get started by updating the Spotify app and visiting the Audiobooks hub.
