Emerging alternative African artist Chimdi has released his latest single, “Colomentality,” a thought-provoking record that examines the lasting influence of colonial thinking on identity, culture, and self-perception across Africa and its diaspora.

Blending African rhythms with electronic music and alternative rock influences, the song encourages listeners to question inherited beliefs and embrace self-awareness rather than dwelling on the past.
According to Chimdi, “Colomentality” is an invitation to reflect on how history shapes modern perspectives and what it truly means to define one’s identity independently.
The single also serves as the first offering from his forthcoming conceptual project, “ANTI,” which explores themes of liberation, sovereignty, spirituality, and freedom. With its bold message and genre-defying sound, “Colomentality” positions Chimdi as an exciting new voice in contemporary African alternative music.
