Burna Boy has officially become the most-listened-to African male artist in Spotify history, reaching a career-high 40.7 million monthly listeners and overtaking Tems’ current tally of 40.6 million.

The achievement marks the highest monthly listener peak ever recorded by an African male act on the platform, surpassing Rema’s 40 million.
The surge has been largely driven by the growing success of “Dai Dai,” which has sparked renewed interest in Burna Boy’s catalogue and fueled a sharp increase in listener numbers across key global markets.
While Burna Boy now holds the African male record and currently leads all African artists on Spotify, the overall African record remains with Tyla, who peaked at an impressive 46.6 million monthly listeners, a record still well within reach.
