Fireboy DML’s “ZUKO!” has recorded 1,209,019 opening-day streams on Spotify Nigeria, marking a strong start for the Nigerian Afrobeats star’s fifth studio album.
The 13-track project features collaborations with Lojay, Judah Earl, Jamaican dancehall star Masicka, and South African acts JAZZWRLD and Thukuthela.
The album’s title draws inspiration from Prince Zuko, the character from “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” In an interview with Sleek Magazine, Fireboy revealed that rival fans had used the name to troll him on social media, but he chose to embrace it as a symbol of strength and passion.
Blending Afrobeats, dancehall and Southern African sounds, “ZUKO!” marks another chapter in Fireboy’s evolving musical journey.
