Wizkid continues to make history as his documentary, “Long Live Lagos,” has been submitted for Grammy consideration in the Best Music Film category.

Directed and produced by filmmaker Karam Gill, the HBO Documentary Films production follows Wizkid’s journey from Lagos to international stardom, building towards his landmark performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The 83-minute film explores the singer’s cultural influence, the global rise of Afrobeats and the role of music in reshaping perceptions of African identity.
Featuring contributions from Femi Kuti, Jada Pollock, Julie Adenuga and other cultural figures, the documentary places Wizkid’s success within a broader story of Nigerian creativity and global influence.
Originally premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Festival, “Long Live Lagos” forms part of HBO’s “Music Box” documentary series.
