The report also highlights the rising influence of women in the scene, with local streams of Nigerian female artists increasing by 55% year-on-year.

Independent creators continue to play a major role as well, with about 58% of all royalties generated by Nigerian artists on Spotify in 2025 coming from independent artists or labels.

Additional data shows Nigerian music dominating local listening habits, accounting for over 80% of tracks on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top 50, while nearly 2,000 Nigerian artists were added to Spotify editorial playlists during the year.
