Spotify has released new Nigeria-focused insights from its “Loud & Clear” report, revealing strong growth in the country’s music streaming economy.

According to the platform, Nigerian artists generated 30.3 billion streams and over 1.6 billion listening hours on Spotify in 2025, reflecting the expanding global reach of the country’s music industry.
The report also highlights the rising influence of women in the scene, with local streams of Nigerian female artists increasing by 55% year-on-year.
Independent creators continue to play a major role as well, with about 58% of all royalties generated by Nigerian artists on Spotify in 2025 coming from independent artists or labels.
Additional data shows Nigerian music dominating local listening habits, accounting for over 80% of tracks on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top 50, while nearly 2,000 Nigerian artists were added to Spotify editorial playlists during the year.
