On “Omotena“, Biza relies on simple yet profound poly rhythmic melodies which he conjures out easily and draws listeners in with its melodic resemblance of a record you definitely think you’ve heard before somewhere but is quite new and unique to him. Biza’s baritone leads the proceedings on the layered production that backs him up well as he sings of two lovers seeking to overcome the barriers between them and settle for what is beneficial to both parties.

The best thing about “Omotena” is not just the production that was brilliant from the beginning of the record, but also how Biza controls everything around him to his tempo and pace, including the background vocals. His performance carried everything to the finish line and made sure that it excelled in the basics that certifies it as a potentially commercial record in this part of the world.

Even much more, he made a bold statement as he sang through hook and inquired for a sung-rap approach on the verse where he engaged a good rhyme scheme and flows easily on the punch beat with little Amapiano elements in its composition that makes it not so overbearing but gives it a needed dynamism. The production is an important decision which must be gotten right in creating a good record. In “Omotena” the production was right and it translated into a record that is able to successfully thrill its potential listeners.
