The bar for debut albums and albums in general has been shifted even higher by Rema, who has just equaled a 41-year standing record on the Billboard 200.
Just a few weeks after smashing the record for the second most spanned album on Billboard 200, held by Wizkid’s “Made in Lagos” at 23 weeks, he has shot for the top spot. And he has successfully equaled the 41-year standing record of 29 weeks previously held by KSA’s 1982 classic “Juju Music”.
The album debuted on the charts at number 81, and is currently sitting comfortably at the 136th spot. This is the first Nigerian debut album to attain this feat.
With Rema still on his North American tour, all odds are in his favor on this musical journey.
