Josplay, Africa’s leading streaming platform for independent artists, has unveiled Rheed1 (Rilwan Tobiloba Raheem) as the winner of its debut Rise Fund, securing $300 in non-cash project support for his upcoming release “Solo”.

Introduced on July 18, 2025, the Rise Fund is designed to nurture emerging African talent through funding, mentorship, merchandising assistance, and global exposure. The inaugural edition drew hundreds of submissions from across the continent, highlighting the depth of creativity among young musicians.
Rheed1, who first gained attention with his breakout track Pinnacle, will channel the support into marketing, branding, high-quality production, and visual storytelling for “Solo”.
“This project is a milestone for me,” he shared. “With Josplay’s backing, I can sharpen my sound, strengthen my brand, and connect with more fans worldwide.”
Beyond financial support, Rheed1 will enjoy prime placement on Josplay’s playlists, in-app features, and social campaigns. The Top 20 finalists will also be showcased on Josplay’s Raw & Rising playlist, giving listeners access to the platform’s most promising new voices.
“Rheed1 embodies the purpose of the Rise Fund,” Blessing Tenumah, Project Lead. “He’s talented, strategic, and intentional about his growth. Investing in him is a step toward shaping the next era of African music.”
Josplay also spotlighted the Top 5 artists from the program—Shaan, Miles Ayo, Sammy Jones, and Chssom—commending their originality and artistry. These musicians will continue to benefit from Josplay’s editorial support and community-driven opportunities.
The Rise Fund will run quarterly, with the next round of applications opening in November 2025. Independent artists across Africa are invited to apply for a chance to gain resources and visibility that can elevate their craft.
