How Nigerian artistes reacted to their 2024 GRAMMY nominations

The internet and Social media have been buzzing since yesterday following the announcement of the nominees for the 2024 GRAMMY Awards.

Davido, Olamide, Ayra Starr, Asake, Burna Boy, and Fireboy were all nominated for the 2024 Grammy Awards; five will be looking to win their first-ever Grammy award in February 2024.

We take a look at the reactions from the nominated artistes and their associates following the announcement of the Grammy nominees.

Davido was elated after his first-ever Grammy nomination, and the talented superstar posted on social media to celebrate the incredible achievement.

Davido earned three nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards:

“FEEL” – for Best Global Music Performance

UNAVAILABLE – for Best African Performance

Timeless – for Best Global Album

Ayra Starr is the only female Nigerian artiste nominated for the 2024 Grammy Awards, her hit song “RUSH” was nominated for Best African Music Performance Award.

Tems congratulated Ayra Starr on her nomination.

Reminisce was one of the first people to congratulate Olamide after he became the first Nigerian rapper to receive a Grammy nomination.

Olamide’s “Amapiano” track with Asake was nominated for Best African Music Performance in the 20234 Grammy Awards.

Burna Boy received the most nominations (four) at the 2024 Grammys, he has now been nominated ten times for the prestigious award more than anyone in Nigeria’s history.

The talented superstar is however yet to react online after his several nominations. He was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance (Sittin on Top of the World), Best Global Album (I Told Them), and Best African Music Performance with “City Boys”

The prestigious Award will take place next year in February and Nigerian musicians will be looking to make history in the ceremony.
