Nigerian Afrobeats artist Gbono (formerly Big Brains) is set to drop his official debut EP, “Maybe A Little Longer,” under his indie label, Headline Music.
Marking a powerful return after a long hiatus, the five-track project fuses Afrobeats with lyrical depth, exploring themes of identity, intimacy, and resilience.
Led by the viral single “Mezebu,” which sparked the #MezebuMove challenge on TikTok, the EP highlights Gbono’s matured sound and DIY ethos. Tracks like “Far & Wide” and “Nigerian” showcase his reflective songwriting and sonic range.
With cinematic production and authentic storytelling, “Maybe A Little Longer” positions Gbono as one of Afrobeats’ most intentional new voices. The EP will be available on May 2, 2025.
