From Africa to Hollywood: AkayCentric’s “Recess” Clinches Best African Performance at the 2026 World Entertainment Awards

Nigerian Afropop and Afro-RnB star AkayCentric has reached a major career milestone after winning Best African Performance at the 2026 World Entertainment Awards, held on January 31 in Hollywood, California, for his hit single “Recess.”

“Recess” has drawn widespread praise for its vibrant rhythm, cultural richness, and universal appeal.

The track gained strong international traction and was also in consideration during the Grammy Awards season in the Best African Music Performance category, further cementing its impact beyond Africa.
