Sometimes, we need to take time to bask in the quality of music being dished out by the underground talents in the Nigerian Music Industry. Some of these artists actually have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the ‘big boys‘ in the industry with the resources and consideration. Dluxx is one of those DITR (abbreviation for ‘Diamonds In The Rough’) that exists in the saturated NG music industry.
Dluxx who came onto the scene since the release of his debut project ‘Elevate‘ EP during the early periods of 2021. He comes through with a new, better and improved package on his second EP which is titled ‘Love In The Trenches‘. A 5 track EP that elevates and highlights the importance of love, peace and wealth.
‘Love‘ has this highlife feels that draws listeners in. The instrumentals are absolute top drawers. Dluxx sends a message of love to everyone around him singing “it’s all love from this side“. A similar vibe and theme transcends into the next track ‘Melody‘. Although, the attention of this song is directed to his lover. This track deserves its title because the melody on it is so sick. The production on this track is impeccable as well.
‘Free My Mind‘ relaxes the mood and sets the mood for what comes next. The singer does not want anything to stress or bother him. ‘Murda‘ switches the tempo back up. This is a instant bop, there is something I can’t quite unravel about this song, but it is an interesting cut that fits into the context of the album. In recent times, a project is not quite complete without the addition of an Amapiano track. ‘My Way‘ is that song. On the outro, Dluxx blesses our ears with a sweet tune that refreshes listeners with its happy and calming ambience. Dluxx shows once again he is the man to always make quality songs.
Talk about a carefully crafted tape, this is one of them. It is evident that Dluxx and his team took enough time to map out their next step since the release of his debut EP. Well, they definitely got it spot on as they released a tape that speaks so much of the many talents Dluxx possess when given enough time to create something extraordinary. I, for one, commend the production on this tape, it is perfect on all songs. Those guitars and keyboards resonated well with me. I don’t recall any bad songs all through. This is a tape I would visit often, you should too.
