On the release of his new single which has been raving the underground scenes with threats to bursts into mainstream soon, our team connects with the budding superstar for a virtual chat.

Tell us a little about your background, how it was growing up and your family.

My background is something I really don’t like talking about to the  public because it wasn’t a smooth one. Being the first son of the family, and a bread winner additionally, I have no other option than to come out good. When I discovered I could sing, I knew within me that I had to come to Lagos to sharpen my skills, get better with my craft and also connect with like minds.  However, since then, it has not been easy promoting my songs but I definitely believe that one day, God is going to answer my deepest prayers.

How did you find music as a thing to do?

Music has always been my passion from birth, but my parents didn’t not support it. They where very religious so anything music was not accepted. So when I became a grown, and could take of myself, I had the courage to move and start making music as a profession.

Who are your musical idols and influences while growing up, and those you admire now?

Coming up, I always had soft spots for  Kanye West and Big Sean, they were top top influences. In Nigeria, its Wizkid, Davido and 2face. Those people are amazing, and even till now, their music still resonates with me.

When did you start music professionally? and what fueled your decision to delve into music.

Music has always been my thing, but in 2020 during COVID-19 period, something shifted. I got massive encouragements from my community, my friends when they saw the potentials in me. Even at the time too, the passion was 100% with me, and then I felt like I could give it my best. Everything professional about my music career happened since then.

Describe your journey since that famous moment?

The journey has been tough, really. There’s been a lot of a lot of high huddles, which although were expected, but I’m dealing with it. Even now, I have learned that is not all about talent or hard work sometimes you need the grace of God on everything you do or decisions you make.

Tell us about some highs and lows you have experienced in your music career so far.

Emphatically, the biggest issue has to be about finance. There’s not enough to put out music and even push it out properly. Although, I’ve found solace in meeting the right people. Music connects and I’ve been a witness of that first hand.

Your new single “High Spirit” is out now. What was the inspiration behind the record?

Making that song was very spiritual for me because it unleashed the other side of me. It presented me being very real and organic. This is exactly what makes the song better than the previous ones I have released. In one part of the song I said “there shall be showers of blessings, the highness is all over me” no lowdowns for now everything is 100.

What are your expectations with the record?

My expectations are not even much (smiles). I just want it to reach everywhere and have lots of people jamming to it, see it resonate so much with them. It will get to the top of course, I’m 100% certain. I keep everything in God’s hand, so let’s see how it goes.

What are your next plans for growth or to move to the next level in your music career?

Oh my next level, that will be a project. Already, I’m working on my EP which might drop later this year or next year. Nothing is certain at this moment, but lets see how it goes. Although, I will admit that I have big plans for my fans.

If you could have your wish now, which artists will you love to work with?

That will definitely be Davido, Tiwa Savage or Odumodublvck. I really love them, top guys.

Leave a message for your fans.

I love you all and the best is yet to come O2 gang. Keep rocking with me, there’s more to come from where all that you’ve enjoyed came from
