The ‘Ayeesha‘ EP contains five songs without any features. The project is a mix of Pop, R&B and Dancehall. It is also influenced in some parts by the new wave Amapiano. Ayeesha, who maintains she wants to always make people dance and vibe to her song decided to keep things groovy all through and it is a beauty to behold.

The intro titled ‘My Life‘ is a wake up call to all listeners to prepare earnestly for the in depth into her artistic world. I feel this song has a message than the literal meaning it conveys. She sings “follow me, if you want to party…this kind vibe be like deja vu“, which refers to the fact that she always wants to create a good vibe around her music. Set on brazy percussive bass drums and melodious chords, it makes the song groovy and also an eligible track for one of those ‘I want to enjoy myself‘ night.

Low key‘ is a song about the artist’s reassurance to her partner. This is a love song set on pop foundations. The chords are alluring and calming especially at the end of the song. On the flipside, the next track ‘Notice‘ is a song about a toxic love. She sings about knowing her self worth, insisting she would not tolerate the infidelity of her partner. The dramatic Dynamism of Ayeesha!

On ‘Korea‘, she seems to have gotten a new lover. New commitments characterise this song. Korea, which was a pre-released single is a delve into already familiar sounds. Despite being the lead single, the track is still relevant because it’s her best performance arguably. ‘Bamisoro‘ threads familiar surroundings of love. She awaits her potential partner’s imminent approach anxiously. It’s a fitting close to a debut project that has been nothing short of wonderful.

The EP is a solid one considering it’s her debut project. I could pick out three good songs I would go back to many times. Korea is fan favorite and it should appeal well to potential listeners with proper promotion. Although, for what its worth, the highs surpass the lows, and she deserves all the credits that comes with the acceptance of this extended play. Ayeesha is on the roll, let’s move with her.
