The super talented act offers a unique come up story, one familiar to the stories of many Top rated acts. Fresh from the University, KeysaSZN had built a solid foundation and gathered a fairly decent fanbase for himself in school.

A-T: Hello Keysa, for your potential new fans, officially introduce us to KEYSA SZN

K: okay! Keysa szn is a boy from edo state who was born and raised in Lagos, from a family of three, second child. And has always had this big dream right from the early stage of life.

A-T: Tell us a lil bit about your background, how it shaped who you are now and your artistry

K: Grew up in an average background home, where my dad has always wanted me to be an accountant, though he is a big fan of music and listens to a whole lot of Benin music, but never wanted me to go into music. My mom also is a musician, so I learnt a lot from her, basically grew up in a music home but they never wanted their kids going into music.

A-T: Why Afrobeats? Or what genre of music would you say you do

K: I do Afrobeats because I am afrobeat itself, so no other way than to do what I have always admired while growing up. I won’t say I have one particular genre because I am versatile in my music. I could wake up one morning and drop a rap single.

A-T: That’s crazy! Who do you draw musical influences from?

K: To the people I grew up listening are the ones I draw my influence from, for this the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Runtown, Olamide, Wande Coal. And also my environment influence myself and my music too.

A-T: Your new single “Things” is a compelling one. Tell us how it came about

K: “Things” is about ups and downs of my life, and also was talking about me in whatever situation I am. Only going to be happy moving forward and up from here. So I will say it’s an happy-type vibe and also an inspirational song.

A-T: It is your debut single. How long have you been anticipating this moment?

K: Actually recorded “Things” in April, with one of the biggest producer right now in Nigeria, Damie. The anticipation for the song was close to two months. But myself coming into the industry dropping my debut single has always been a dream come true, and that anticipation has been for a very long time. And I am happy it’s finally happening now.

A-T: What is the plan going forward? A body of work? Or visuals

K: My plan moving forward is developing my sound, and two more singles before the year runs out. Also trying to have my own fan base in the music industry, that love me and my music. As for visuals we will see as time goes on.

KeysaSZN has stated that he is committed to giving the best quality product to listeners as he grows his sound, he wants the world to listen to his music and appreciate his art. He seeks to make a dent in the industry, after building a great reputation and audience for himself when he was back in school.
