Super-talented act, Yugo aka Yugoszn makes bold statement with his first single of the year ‘Before Before‘.
Any conversation about some of the most talented underground artists in the country is incomplete without Yugoszn in the mix. Birth forth into the industry during the advent on the world-wide pandemic in 2020, Yugoszn has taken almost perfect next steps to solidify himself as one of the best new talents to emerge into a superstar from that era.
Having won over most of his fans by serving quality music, Yugoszn continues in similar stead this new year with the release of his latest single titled ‘Before Before‘. The single which was revealed by the artist himself to serve as the lead single to his forthcoming debut project.
On Before Before, the talented singer threads his usual mid tempo Afro-Pop waters as he sings about unrequited love caused by the artist’s insufficient resources at a time ( “Told your friends I’m broke with no cheese / cause you wanted Gucci, Fendi and Supreme / And I wanted some loving, I wanted peace of mind / She wasn’t down for love, wanted the Ps.” ) while being adamant to take her back when he got comfortable ( “Shey na you dey form before before / Now you want to love / Is it because I don dey soft?” ).
One would wonder, if the lead single is this good, how much more the other tracks coming with the project? That is a question for another day definitely, but the fact that Yugo has delivered another quality offering is a testament to his talent and begs the question how better can he get?
Just as we await the debut project, this song is enough to feast upon in anticipation.
