Ayo Keeng has released “Mother’s Tongue,” the emotional centerpiece of his upcoming body of work, “Love Lord.”

The song explores heartbreak as a lesson rather than a wound, encouraging listeners to approach love with care and choose self-love over fleeting passion. Moving between English, Nigerian Pidgin and Yoruba, “Mother’s Tongue” uses each language to deepen its message, blending universal emotion with the cultural weight of Yoruba expression.
Produced by Different Breed and written by Ayomide Habeeb Yekeen, the track trades the dancefloor for a slower, meditative Afro-fusion sound. It builds on the bilingual thread heard across Ayo Keeng’s “Yoruba Angel,” “Duro,” “Adura” and “Magun.”
With “Mother’s Tongue,” Ayo Keeng offers a reflective take on love, heartbreak and the wisdom that comes from learning to love oneself first.
