Spotify has revealed its 2025 R&B streaming insights across Africa, highlighting the artists, songs, and countries driving the genre’s continued growth on the continent.

South African star Tyla leads the list of the most-streamed African R&B artists, followed by Nigerian acts Tems, Ayra Starr, Omah Lay, and Fireboy DML, reflecting the genre’s strong presence across both markets.
Among the year’s biggest R&B records, “Venus” by Faceless and Serøtonin claims the top spot, ahead of Rema’s “Baby (Is It A Crime),” Kunmie’s “Arike,” Fola and Kizz Daniel’s “Lost,” and Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s “Gimme Dat.”
Nigeria emerged as Africa’s leading R&B streaming market, with South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, and Zambia completing the top five, underscoring the genre’s expanding popularity across the continent and its evolving influence on African music culture.
