Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer 1da Banton has unveiled his latest single, “Baby Oku,” featuring the celebrated guitarist Fiokee.
Fully produced by 1da Banton and his team, the track pays homage to the essence of Afrobeats, a genre born in Nigeria that has reshaped global music over the past two decades.
“Baby Oku” combines African rhythms, traditional styles, and contemporary Black music influences to create an uplifting and introspective sound.
Drawing inspiration from his Port Harcourt roots, 1da Banton incorporates elements like West African highlife, Eastern Nigeria’s Ariaria drum patterns, and Congolese Soukous.
Blending Afro-tropical, dancehall, and reggaeton vibes, “Baby Oku” highlights 1da Banton’s cultural versatility while celebrating the vibrant legacy of Afrobeats.
